🎬 Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery 🤩🤩

film

I have to admit, I didn’t like the first Knives Out film, and I liked this second one even less. Even good performances by Edward Norton and Janelle Monae couldn’t save it for me. Without giving anything away, I figured out the “murder mystery” within the first 30 minutes and spent the rest of the film thinking it was rather dull. Also, Daniel Craig’s accent as Detective Benoit drove me crazy, but I’m very particular about accents. That being said, I’m in the minority here. Daniel Craig was nominated for a Golden Globe for his performance and the general consensus is that people love this movie. It’s not that I’m against whodunits in general (I used to read detective novels as a kid), but this series hasn’t managed to capture my interest, despite the star-studded cast. Let’s just say, I’m way more excited for Ocean’s 14 to come out. But, what do I know? Go check it out yourself!

📺 Emily in Paris (S3) 🤩🤩 ✨

tv

I don’t know why this show is so damn watchable. I’ve binged every season, and yet, I don’t find myself liking any of the characters, except for Luc. Emily is annoying. Gabriel is cute, but boring. Mindy can sing, but that’s about all. Cami is chic and French in all the right ways, but I found myself rooting for her less this season. Maybe, it’s the fashion. Maybe, it’s the fact that the show is set in Paris. Maybe, it’s the fact that Emily’s French office mates Sylvie, Julien and Luc are at times delightfully rude and hilarious. Maybe, it’s all of the above. I guess this show is kind of like chewing bubble gum. Once you start, you just can’t stop. Also, the Pop Air Balloon Museum is my literal dream come true. So, if you’re in the mood for something mindless and fun, Emily in Paris is the perfect weekend binge. But, if you want something a bit more challenging, watch The English instead.
